Degradation and Extraction of Organochlorine Pollutants from Environmental Solids under Subcritical Water Conditions

چکیده
A subcritical water degradation and extraction method was developed to remediate environmental soils contaminated by highly recalcitrant organochlorine pollutants. Hydrogen peroxide used effectively decompose pollutants under conditions. As a optimization study, the static wet oxidation of chlorophenols first performed in with without added hydrogen peroxide. Complete achieved using an oxidant, thus, from sand matrix then attempted. oxidant were within 30 min at 100 °C. We investigated dieldrin, mirex, p,p′-DDD. These pesticides not as easily oxidized chlorophenols, benefit adding only clearly observed 200 Approximately 20% increase noted for each pesticide insecticide this temperature. Unfortunately, difference temperature 250 °C, except some cases, where amount byproducts reduced. Dieldrin p,p′-DDD essentially destroyed while all insecticides completely removed The proposed soil sample DDT. obtained grounds old DDT mixing facility Virginia has been aging several decades. Not 100% removal but also, extracted during process. remediation method, therefore, demonstrates high potential efficient environmentally sound technique detoxification soils.

Subcritical water extraction (SWE) of essential oil from Matricaria Chamomilla L. (M. Chamomilla L.) was performed and compared with conventional method including hydro distillation. The percentage of main extracted components of different temperatures (100, 125, 150 and 175 oc) and water flow rates (1, 2 and 4 ml/min) were investigated at 20 bar pressure and 0.50 mm mean particle size in SWE....

Supercritical fluids have received much attention for analytical and processing applications. In particular, supercritical carbon dioxide has been used to extract relatively non-polar organics from a variety of environmental matrices, and has also been used for chemical processing. While supercritical carbon dioxide is relatively unreactive and is not an efficient solvent for polar organics, su...

Extractions of a polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon (PAH)-contaminated soil from a former manufactured gas plant site were performed with a Soxhlet apparatus (18 h), by pressurized liquid extraction (PLE) (50 min at 100 degrees C), supercritical fluid extraction (SFE) (1 h at 150 degrees C with pure CO2), and subcritical water (1 h at 250 degrees C, or 30 min at 300 degrees C). Although minor diff...

15 صفحه اولExtraction of Quercetin from Polygonum Hydropiper L. by Subcritical Water
The new method of quercetin extraction from Polygonum hydropiper L. by subcritical water was developed. High performance liquid chromatography was used for identification and quantification of flavonoids in the extract. The new method is environmentally friendly and more effective (7.6-times) than traditional flavonoids extraction methods using expensive and toxic organic solvents.
